Maybe like me they are fed up with you repeating yourself so often, especially as at the moment there isn't a viable alternative. I wouldn't trust the cons leader to do anything for us, you just have to look at the name to realise it. I suppose the one thing with them is they do tell you they are going to con you, so you have been warned.

We do not know whether or not they would be a viable alternative. This lot are certainly NOT worth another go, having made such a mess up this time. Regarding me repeating myself as you put it, I don't think I am the only one on here who has suggested more than once that this lot have had it. A personal insult to me does not help at all. As the country's political system is set up there is no viable alternative party, because they are all the same. The system allows nothing else. The traditional differences live on only in the minds of their rapidly disappearing traditional supporters.

The cobbled together face saving promise of el Gordo, to review the matter of funding, is going to be another big fudge to keep party noses in troughs. It will not look at at the question of why we have parties, and this is the crux of the sleaze business, and with it the shambollickly atrocious governments we have suffered for the past half century and more. If we did not have parties most of the dishonesty and sham would have no hiding place and would just disappear. (The party system is just as much a problem, for exactly the same reasons, in local "government".)

The only reason for political "parties" is to force through legislation.

A/ Because it is not freely supported by the majority of MPs. (What sort of "democracy" is a "three line whip"?)

A/ Because the supporters of the party in power want it to be approved.

A/ Only those at the top of the dung heap know that.

Your local chap is probably as much in the dark as the public, but he knows that they are there, keeping him troughing so unless he has some sort of conscience he will do has he is told.

If you look at the way New Labour has switched its loyalty, traditionally to "the workers", to Big Business and Banking, it is plain to see this in action. If you look at the background of Jon Mendelsohn and his "claim to fame" this is quite clear.

The Tories are sticking to their traditional backers, Big Business and Banking.

The Liberals seem to get their backing from the Salvation Army or YMCA.

In addition to the party getting "backing", some of the individual MPs and Ministers get Lobbying perk support. Some of them draw more from directorships than their salary as an MP.

No wonder there is sleaze and fudged government, and no wonder that they know of a soft landing should it all go pear shaped.

I started off Labour, then joined the Liberals, and finally joined the Tories. I left them some years ago, and would NOT contribute money to any of them. As I have said before, the last Tory government was one of the sleaziest ever. This lot however have surpassed them. If Rong does not like my criticisms of Labour, maybe he is a closet supporter but will not admit it. I rest my case. :D :D :D :D :D

To answer that one, I used to vote Liberal 20 or 30 years ago, then I didn't vote for years, after a time someone suggested I spoilt my paper so it would be counted. I did vote for a party something to do with being English last time, would not vote for any of the three big party's until they clean up their acts. Hope that answers your comment and just because I think that with their track record the cons would only make things worse does not mean I would support Labour.

When this thing was first announced on our local Border Television News they said it was the details of one million learner drivers in the USA that had been lost on it's way to DVLA. I remember thinking why the hell would DVLA want these details to start with.
