rong Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 I thought it would be the hills that caused the problem as well, as without the hills there would be no bottoms (for the smutty minded replace bottoms with valleys and if your mind has now gone else where there is no hope for you) to cause the problem. I should have said valleys Indeed, the water runs all down the hills and then forms in the valleys (where the roads are) and then the drains can't cope so we have water-splashes all over the place.Beware pedestrians passing by when the traffic's busy :D My husband was glad he didn't have the windows open as it's bad enough inside the car. It has alternating between rain and snow since 01:00 hrs and is lashing down at the moment. Irene Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 It's very windy here in Stafford. :0 We have two fields with a stream running through them at the rear of our house.The stream has now migrated into the fields to form a lake (again!!). No idea as to how long it will last. :DIt was so nice, that we went a walk in the Burntwood part of the national forest. It was cold but lovely and fresh, with no wind. The afternoon clouded over. The national forest is a scheme that you must have heard of. The Burntwood part was started about ten years ago. It is a large area planted with a wide variety of various size and types, with some quite large unplanted areas to break the whole thing up. Many of the trees are now as tall as about twenty feet, and the area is maturing fast.
