Alan2273 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Share Posted April 10, 2008 Irene my wife had both her eyes done within a month of each other.She says after about a week the uncomfortableness will be gone and your vision will be OK.She to needs glasses for reading but her distance sight is superb. If so just keep taking the drops they will have given you and you should be back to speed in a week or two. It is still rather sore, with limtations on clarity of vision. But your responses have given me hope of further improvement later. The plan was to follow up with the other eye in good time, but I think it must be like having a baby or having a serious hangover.... "Never again", were my words yesterday. Irene Posted April 18, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 18, 2008 It still feels like a one horse (eye) race. :( I went to see my 'referring' optician today because I feel very unhappy about the outcome of my lens implant. After some consultation, he decided to do a biometric test on the operated eye.To cut a long story short, the outcome was that he felt that I had been left with an "unexpected short-sighted result"!!!My personal opinion is that the biometric test done by the 'Consulting Team' was for some reason inaccurate. Human or equipment error, I hesitate to say. All I recall, is that his 'team' on the first consulting appointment, had difficulty in achieving the required "ping" for my left eye (the one in question)..... The result was used to calculate the power of my lens implant. Need I say more? :( My post operative appointment was scheduled to have been on Tuesday April 15th, but due to the increased influx of patients (as a direct result of the new NHS choose & book system) it was re-scheduled to Tuesday 29th April.This charade is becoming a living nightmare!
