Do I look stupid or what ?

I think it's dreadful to put clothes on animals - especially dogs. Despite what people might think, dogs do have a mind and are capable of thinking rationally. They also have emotions and are capable of being embarrassed. I've known numerous instances of this, not only with my own dogs but others as well.

On one occasion, my dog have an abscess on his foot (retrievers are prone to them). Thinking we were treating the dog well we put a dressing on it and covered his foot with a sock. Dog totally refused to go outside. We took the sock off, went outside , no problem at all. On another occasion he sneezed and hit his nose on the edge of a table. I could sense he was embarrassed as he skulked off and hid for about an hour.

My yorkie used to fetch her coat when it was cold.

Tried one on the labrador once - she tried to get it off herself.

So - depends on the dog really.

All the animals we've had have had to suffer my youngest daughter dressing them up for Christmas. They loved the attention.

We had a dog years ago, and every time she farted she looked most embarrassed.

Are you sure it was the dog that farted? the dog could have looked embarrassed because someone else had done it but everyone looked at the dog. :D

Ours is just the same  he leaves the room at once.

As for dressing animals up, apart from children's antics, it's just another sad attempt to make them 'human'. Perhaps we should emulate them and go around crapping in the street and doing what is perfectly natural for an animal, so they can have the last laugh? I hope they'll remember to take their poo bags with them.

Personally, I NEVER do that anywhere but in the little room. :D
