I dislocated my left knee about fifteen years ago, and it has just started to play me up badly. I have an appointment this evening at the local hospital for possible referral for a replacement joint. To cap it all, last Thursday I suffered some mild but disturbing symptoms while in Lichfield. I saw a specialist yesterday and it seems that I may possibly have had a mini stroke. I have been forbidden to drive until I have had a precautionary scan, and have been put on aspirin meantime. It means taxis for the time being as 'Er indoors cannot drive one handed. It never rains but it pours. This week ends shopping will have to be ordered on line and delivered by Sainsbury's. :DTotally sympathise with the knee problem. I'm waiting to go in hospital - as a day job - for an injection in my 'other' knee and my hip. I shouldn't worry too much about it as 'er inbed has had about eleven over a two and a half year period and she is still OK. Mini-strokes the Hospital called them. So don't worry too much. To stop everything getting to like being horizontal.I used management's laptop top look in this morning, but although I could look, via the wireless card link, when I tried to send a reply the damn fool machine told me IE had caused a fault, and it wanted to send a message to M$......as if that would do any good. As far as the mini stroke is concerned take heart. I had a stroke in the back of a mini many years ago. I would have had another but the young lady in question slapped my face quite hard. I got this one two and a half weeks ago and it's running like a dream. I should have had one years ago. I lay there thinking about putting Ubuntu/FF/TB/OO onto it and then my old Yorkshire brain realised that the wretched thing is much too small and old even for that. It has a label stuck onto it that proudly proclaims to the world "Designed for Widows 98" ....not 98SE even! (and I need my glasses on to see the screen it is so small). It has a CPU that would struggle to outpace a slug and less RAM than that found in a gnat. Mind you theses is complemented by a hard drive that is going on for 4 gig.The nice thing about it is that I can slip it into DOS and go poking about in its internals.What I really need is a laptop the size of a PC. Hope you all recover soon.I've been missing on here for a while but only because I'm spending less time online as we're decorating and I can only just get at the PC.
