When the tsunami hit Sri Lanka a few years ago Oxfam immediately sent "a top level team" out here (even though there was no famine or even a shortage of food). After a few weeks the local press caught them importing half a dozen luxury 4-wheel drive vehicles from India so the Oxfam top-brass could travel about in the style to which they are presumably accustomed, even though perfectly adequate 4-wheel drive vehicles are available locally at much lower low cost. In line with the law, the Sri Lankan government told Oxfam they would have to pay the luxury import tax of 200% of the retail price for each vehicle. And do you know they paid it.So now you know where your donations to Oxfam go.Personally, about the only large "charity" I trust these days is the Red Cross/Red Crescent.
