There's at least seven inches come down with more forecast. I had to go up out local Co-op this afternoon and the Sun was shining while it was snowing and it was -3.5 C. I've told 'er in bed that I am not going out again for at least the next three day's, even if the Earth split into two and a volcano came up in the road. It took us twenty minutes longer than usual to get to the Hospital the main problem being the 'Moor Top'.There was about five to six inches of slushy snow and I had to take it easy because of the steepness of the banks. It was minus 4.5 deg C up there, it was only minus .5 deg C at home level when we left. When we eventually arrived at the Hospital they had had an emergency and everything was running forty minutes late. 'Er in beds appointment was for 15:10 hrs but she didn't get seen to until 15:55 so that knocked all the rest of the day's plans out of the window. To cap it all on the way home there had been a five vehicle pile on on 'Gordon Hill, ( no before you ask, it is a place name not a person) and we were caught up in a twelve mile tail back which cost us one and a half hours. It's a step hill, 1 in 5. 20% in decimal currency.The good news is she is all clear. Nothing in the Stomach or Gullet. The bad news is, we have to go back next Wednesday to get the other end done, 15:00 hrs this time. She had an intestinal one done about a year ago so she'd not looking forward to it. :(How was the journey to hospital on the Wednesday of Christmas week?Hopefully the procedure result was favourable. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I just had to wade down the drive to collect the wheelie bin and recycling boxes that were emptied this morning by the council guys. I am surprised they came - the snow is about 3"deep. It is nowhere near as bad as other parts of the country but deep enough for management to cancel our planned trip to the shops. catgate Posted January 5, 2010 Report Share Posted January 5, 2010 It is snowing here, and has been since about 7.00 a.m.There were four of us from the area had made arrangements to travel down to Goole this morning, to sit in, comment, and contribute our venom at yet another appeal against a Planning Application Refusal. Unfortunately we could not get really get out safely, and we also were worried about how we would get back if we did make it out. So we shall just have to rely on the sagacity of the Planning Inspector from Bristol. I think the inspector will be aware of the fact that this will be the fourth in a series of appeals against previous refused fatuous and deceitful applications. Since not going we have learned that there have been a couple of roads closed so it is a good thing we cancelled the operation. Still the birds a grateful for us not going. The sky just turned jet black with a wind blowing from the North. Now we are in the middle of a blizzard with thunder and lightning. I have never, and can't remember ever seeing thunder and lightning at the same time as snow . I think it must be the Apocalypse. The end is nigh friends. Run for you air-raid shelters. The road has only had a plough down it twice in one week and there is only one car width to go down and up. I managed to get to the main road and that wasn't much better. I did my bit of shopping got back home only for it to start snowing again.
