I'm thinking of the Grinning Ninnies in particular - Ant & Dec and a number of so-called comics (or comedians) in whom there isn't a molecule of real humour, just sneering putdowns. Air heads have found that their worth, as judged by Aunty Beeb, is in the number of laughs they produce. Sadly Aunty Beeb, and many other valuers, have not yet been able to distinguish the laughter of amusement from the laughter of embarrassment and shock.There are some very quick witted and funny people about, but they are using the embarrassment and shock route as the quick and easy way of creating laughs. Belatucadrus Posted January 18, 2010 Report Share Posted January 18, 2010 As I've said before when acting as a presenter in a defined format such as Film 200X or some of the documentaries he's done he's quite entertaining. The problems start when the beeb let him off the hook and started to rely on his own sense of judgment. Big mistake he has none, too much self indulgence, puerile smutty jokes and extreme narcissism.
