Dencandy
What on earth is happening in the UK? A few weeks ago I read of rioting "students" getting into the head-ofice of Britain's Conservative Party & trying to wreck the place; then last week the president of Sri Lanka was prevented from speaking at Oxford due to threats from supporters of the Tamil Tigers living the UK. Now I read that Prince Charles & his wife were driven straight into the middle of a riot by their police escort escort.Have the police forces in the UK been taken over by complete morons, or what? rong
I have always thought the majority of the police force have been morons and that was the main criteria to get in and get to the top.

bludgard
Rent a mob is rapidly taking over. They call this a "tea party" in America.People are tired of being treated as second rate citizens. And the old "do as I say,not as I do" attitude.Of constantly putting in just to be told that all was misappropriated and is no more.Of being led to the slaughter for who knows the real reasons.Of the corruption.Lies.Greed.Of being told when to go to bed.... All we can do is let time take it's course....Or buck. It's all been done before. As a people we lost our minds when one of us put an electric fence around the apple tree and started charging the other for the fruit. And +1 on bobbies being boobies. It's their job.Again I base this totally on conjecture and will plead ignorance 'til the end. -pops-
It was a very bad move to attack Mr & Mrs Windsor (or Wales or whatever their name is).All it's done is to take attention away from the real point of the demonstrations - and it doesn't matter whether one agrees with the objectives of the riots or not, they have hardly been mentioned in the news reports today. The government has deemed it necessary to massively increase student university fees. This has been tempered by the poorest getting their first two years paid for. No one else has to find money up front. Indeed, nothing has to be paid back until the particular ex student is earning more than £21,000 per annum. Then they will pay back £7 per month or thereabouts. This compares with the present figure of £45 per month. So in fact students will be better off. The left wingers are however doing their best to create a web of lies round the actual facts and stir up trouble. Most of the students who are demonstrating, are under the misapprehension that they will have to pay thousands of pounds up front, and the labour party are doing their best to perpetuate this myth. However, having said that, they do have a right under British law to demonstrate in a peaceful manner, but rent a mob are wrecking their lawful protests. Gandalph
I agree with andsome's statement. You will always find in Britain, whether it is a Political demonstration or a football match, that there is a small faction that has nothing to do with either that are just there to cause trouble. Alan2273
Andsome, they will have to pay back 9% of there salary, so at £21,000 that equates to £189 a year for 30 years = £5670, which is less the possible £9,000 for one year let alone 3 years. But someone who starts on £50,000 a year will pay back £450 a year, that equates to £13,500, so the more they earn the more they pay.So where is the incentive to earn more money so they have to pay more back.I certainjly agree with what has been said about Charles & Camilla, those mobs have done the students cause a lot of harm. Unfortunately we live in a culture of something for nothing. People in that position should be counting their good fortune.

To get a good job these day's you have to emigrate. There are still lots of jobs to be had in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.A and other countries if you have the right qualifications. Meantime, as said previously NO ONE getting less than £21000 per annum will be paying anything. Just what more do people want??? It is an unfortunate fact that there can be no gain without pain. I believe that the debt is in the region of 1.5 trillion, and the interest is several millions per day. We are all going to suffer.
vitmin
What's happening in the UK is no different than what is happening every where, people are upset around the world and they riot when they feel they aren't getting what they deserve. But the riots won't help, they have to change the laws and that means voting in the people who can make the changes they need. It's unfortunate they directed their anger towards prince charles, it really has nothing to do with him.

No one likes what has to be done, but all these protesters and rioters are offering No alternative. If you think about it, there is no alternative, you cannot carry on spending what you don't have.
