Facebook anyone?

I was just wondering what other forum members are on Facebook; you can connect to me at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000707617396

However, this is not the reason why I'm posting here about Facebook. The book store where I continue to build that online project is in big trouble. Many foreigners have left Japan, and the customer base has shrunk to near zero. (Most people who come to the shop bring books because they are leaving too.)

That is why I need to promote the website for online orders. To do this I have created a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Good-Day-Books/148030088596425

The only thing I need is other Facebook members to visit that page, and click 'Like'. Once I have collected 25 "fans", I can change that URL to something more easy to find.

If anyone thinks that is as close to spam as it gets, let me know and I will remove the topic.

Sorry to read about your bookstore woes.

I recently deleted my facebook account because it served no purpose other than to attract invitiations from complete strangers who wanted to be my friend. They obviously made contact because they were friends of friends of friends ad infinitum. I well understand why you have raised a Facebook account and hope it does the trick for you.

We no longer buy books - we have an Amazon Kindle which is much more convenient to carry about on holiday - it weighs far less than books which is a big factor these days because airlines are scrimping on baggage allowance.

I much prefer to contact people in person, either by phone, by Email or by the postal system (in that order).
