I kid you not, in the summer when very hot we could find no way to open the thing. No in the depths of winter, we heavy rain overhead we can find no way of closing the thing.The options with the letting agents emergency helpline are:1) Heating and plumbing2) Electrican3) Locksmith.Working on the basis it was cold I chose option 1 (always nice to wake someone up!) and he was as surprised as me to find there was no option of "man with ladder to close window" so open it is and the carpet gets wetter.Bring on the snow I say... There was a heavy ground frost and it has rained but, the frozen ground was so cold that the rain solidified on impact resulting in a "bobbly" surface of ice. andsome Posted November 19, 2004 Report Share Posted November 19, 2004 The theory is that global warming will eventually cause much colder weather in Britain. This because with the melting of ice in parts of the northern hemisphere, the sea will be diluted enough to stop the gulf stream from flowing. This process has already started. It is said that this process will speed up and could eventually lead to the complete stopping of the gulf stream flow within the life time of todays young people.
