Click here for PCPro article gives an idea as to the power used and instructions on setting S3 in BIOS to tweak power saving settings.

PS all mine are set to S3 and I turn them off at night anyway, as I can't see the point in burning electricity to no good purpose and have yet to see any hard evidence corroborating the much vaunted

Thermal expansion as you turn on and off will wear out your motherboard
theory.

My original W95 PC was turned off every day, sometimes more than once and at seven years old it still works fine.

Turn on when I get up in a morning and off just before going to bed some 15-18 hours later. Leave on all day unless I pop out for more than an hour then I will normally turn off.

PS: Sorry artist, forgot to answer your question. No, everything electrical [PC including Broadband modem and all entertainment equipment, ] is run through a surge protector with a £20,000 warranty.
