Yup we are off the the Italian Lakes in the morning for 2 weeks. I wont admonish you to behave, while I'm away, because I wouldn't in the same situation. Will probably check in from time to time - don't think I'll have the same luck as the hotel last year where the coin-in-the-slot thingy was broke but still allowed a connection. Looking forward to some sun and vino etc. :D

Don't be too harsh Scuzzy. That's it. Now for shower, shave, etc. Feed birds, don't know why because all the feeders will be empty in a couple of days anyway but 'Er upstairs insists. Water plants - only did them last night - I need a holiday.

Journey OK. Good posy, good food, good wine, should do extremely well. This is one screwed up PC. Talk about slow dial-up is a race horse in comparison. Also Italian keyboerd. Can anyone help and tell me where the ampersand key is so I can send family some e-mails. Also there,s a virus on this system. wont suggest a hijackthis scan.

I've just done a Google Doug and according to information received it should be above the number 6 on the Italian keyboard. Have a nice Holiday.

Just had thoughts Doug. If you mean the @ key, it's on the right of the L key, but looking at the diagram I have it looks as though that key could have another two functions as well. The Ampersand key is & and as stated, above the number 6. Cheers.

Thanks Gandalf, I can see it now. Having a wonderful and lazy time. Very warm and humid here. Spent quite a time this morning just staring at the heat haze broiling down off the mountains onto the lake. Going to be adventurous tomorrow. Propose to take a boat trip into Switzerland the a narrow guage rail trip round to another stop where we change for another train back to Stresa. The views are supposed to be fantastic especially of the lakes and gorges. Only one upset to date. The control panel on Anne's Trike packed in on our first day. The supplier has posted a replacement unit out. Not sure how long it will take to get hear though. So I'm back to the bad old days of being a simple pusher. For the next few days plan to do boat and taxi trips. Will take a few piccys and post on return. Forgive any typo's Can't find the spellchucker.

It was truly wonderful. Celebrated Anne's birthday and our 40th Wedding anniversary while away. That damned control unit didn't arrive from the supplier so I've sent a very shirty e-mail to their MD and Commercial Manager via the forum web mail. Had to do a lot of pushing and finished up being too knackered to get any running in. The boat trips were superb. Anne, being disabled, went free on them all. The Italian crews couldn't have been more helpful - to the point that on one class of their boats they held the gangway up manually while I backed the chair onto it and then they very carefully lowered us down onto the boat. Fantastic.

Will do just been doing a quick scan to check on whether standards have been maintained during my absence.

Of course they have Doug. We wouldn't like a ticking off when you got back would we. We only let standards drop when andsome goes away.
