What in name of whatever....was going through that man's mind when he acted as he did? No excuses.....what could Mazzwhatever have said to trigger that reaction? After the career he's had...that act of madness and the consequences will stay wth him for the rest of his days........if ever he lives that long!

Spoilt the game for me! And I'm not even close to being French!!

If they'd won he could just have got away with it, but now they've lost I suspect a lot of the French who'd previously seen him as a sporting hero are suddenly going to remember he's Algerian. You thought Beckham had a rough time all those years ago after the Argentina game. I've got a feeling it's going to get unpleasant over La Manche.

Mind you if you're going to foul somebody do a proper job, Zidanes flying head butt was way more impressive than Rooneys nut stomp or even Beckams girly side swipe. Viney Jones would be proud.

The whole game was a farce, as have been a lot of the matches. Too much cynical fouling, and also far too much playacting and diving. Most of the so called fouls were dives, and so called players were writhing about in mock agony. It all needs sorting out before another series.

As I said in another thread the whole game has become a bore with all this pushing down the middle. Resulting in players being offside, or having their backs to the goal when receiving the pass and therefore having to turn, or running and trying to look over their shoulders to see where the ball is. Let's get back to good old fashioned wing play and crossing the ball from the touchline near the corner flag. A forward can hit the ball far more accurately and a lot harder if he's running onto it. To have one forward only is ridiculous, don't these people realise that they are in the entertainment business, and people don't want to watch boring build ups with the ball going from one to the other, then backward, and then forward again, and finally down the middle for an offside decision.

Definately not one of the better games - Italy deserved to win.

Unbelievable action by Zedan!! It wasn't as if he did it on the spur of the moment - MAD!

I'm going to miss the footie - not a lot on digital tv and there's no way I'm being blackmailed to buy SKY!

As he hasn't been seen since it must be assumed he is in the "Maison de fous" and that's where he belongs.

I have never seen such a blatant act of aggression on a football field.

I dunno....Eric Cantonna springs to mind......but I suppose you could argue he wasn't actually on the pitch at the time, as he Kung-Fu kicked that spectator!

I really don't think so. After all the match was almost over and it had no influence on the game. Mind you I guess he could have been trusted to score his penalty in the shoot-out.

The full story will come out eventually. Whether the nipple pinching had any part to play before ZZ got going with his head-butt, we shall have to see.

Superb footballer when at his best though.

Thos.

What you saying?.....If he 's been eating garlic you headbutt or kick him? Sounds a bit over the top to me! Would a slap round the lughole not be sufficient?

What's the problem with eating garlic? Many dishes are rubbish without it.

Look! ...according to sapins.........the consumption of garlic could lead you to headbutting or fly-kicking someone around the head and shoulders area as per Zidane and Cantonna!! I didn't say it...but it's been inferred.....so we don't want you getting into trouble andsome old pal.......so if you have been at the anti-vampire veg......please wear a placard round your neck.....stating in large capital letters, "Don't mess with me, I've been eating garlic". That should do it!

What's wrong with eating garlic ? Everything !! Originally used by French peasants as it was the only thing strong enough to take away the taste of the rotten worm eaten meat and mouldy veg they were forced to consume. Garlic is a barely edible weed that has never ever improved anything. As to "many dishes being rubbish without it." quite possible, but they're even worse with it ! The answer is to stop eating rubbish and head down the farmers market for some fresh tasty local ingredients.

Refusal to eat Garlic would also cure the nations halitosis problem overnight.

It takes a man to eat garlic, it's not for kids.
