Heard this pm from TalkTalk that BT had just rejected the line activation request, but no reason given. I am having to be very patient about all this. No. 1 G'daughter has already been over to retrieve all her games that she had on my PC - because they wouldn't run on the old one. Got to dash back to see to herself the off out collecting sponsorship for this year's run. Way behind on last year but been full of busy. TT suggested that to tide me over they would refund any costs if I temporarily used a dialup account. So I dug out my pld PCI modem and tried to set that up - no success. It's a Bitware LT Win Modem. Now the PC I have been using off and on lately was my No.2 daughter's new PC. The old one I collected today and have temporarily gone on line with this before I hand it over to the new owner.Re- the modem in my PC - which is running XP Pro The only info I can find is that it's an LT Win Modem. It was installed in PCI slot 5. on booting the PC reports that a simple connecting device has been found and installed. The latest have been down to TT, but I must point out that the vast bulk of the problems have been due to BT. However, I've been told that this week I should get a connection date. In the mean time, TT have said they will refund the cost of all my dial-up calls. OK up to a point but it means our phone line is not available when on line and the family do need to keep in touch to check up on herself. Also pain dries quicker than some pages load. Have been avoiding any downloads, except for AVG updates. 'tis why I've not been making much of a nuisance of myself here. Still herself was able to do her on-line grocery shop as the family are all coming here today. Mind nearly had to call that off as we've both been struck with the Montezuma's revenge over the last 48 hours, Anne worse than me because of her MS. Did have to cancel our trip to No.2 G'daughter yesterday but the family are coming over early today to pitch in. Sincerely hope everyone else is fit and well on here!
