andsome
Not far from Grove Lane, it was in Golds Hill Road if my memory is correct.Of course... by the library. There was an annexe in Victoria Road, off Boulton Road, it was formally part of Boulton Road School, my first school, infants and juniors. We used to have to walk there for some lessons.

-pops-
My "son-in-law" is a airline captain doing the runs to the Far East and Australia/NZ.He assures me that there is nothing romantic about driving a plane and most of the time it's a bore as the flying is done automatically and there's nothing for the flight crew to do.At the destination it's airport to hotel, sleep, hotel to airport, fly the aircarft back. It's only rare that they get a chance to enjoy themselves as drinking is strictly verboten.
Roman
there's nothing for the flight crew to do.Do you know, how hard they have to work? Besides, they dont get well-payed for doing nothing. Of course there are pilots who dont like their job and they only do it for the big cash. BUT there are a lot of pilots who just love their work! And I think, people who really love their work, dont find their job boring. drinkink is strictly "verboten"Thank you soo much for the translation -pops-. :D But I know the english word "forbidden" too, so you can just use english words. That's no problem for me
-pops-
Roman, you have to take the whole of my sentence to convey the meaning I intended:He assures me that there is nothing romantic about driving a plane and most of the time it's a bore as the flying is done automatically and there's nothing for the flight crew to do.The times when they are doing things they are very busy and they have the responsibility of the lives of 400 or so people entirely with them - that's the reason they get paid well.I wasn't being condescending about using "verboten" - it is a word used in colloquial English for emphasis - rather than writing "strictly forbidden", verboten gives more of what I meant. Roman
Oh really? I thought, you have translated it to german. :D I've never known that its just a word of colloqial english to place emphasis on something."forbidden" means in german "verboten".take a look at this:http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&lang=...n&relink=on
-pops-
You are right, it is a German word but stolen by the English and incorporated into the language - like a lot of other words borrowed from numerous languages all over the world. Perhaps not as widely used as other stolen words but acceptable to my (English) spell checker before I sent the post.Verboten does mean forbidden when used in English as well but a somewhat stronger word than just forbidden on its own - hence my stating it is used for emphasis, not that the word means emphasis. Roman
OK, I live in the city "Saarbrücken". It is about 180 km(100 miles) southwest of Frankfurt and about 5-10 km away from the french frontier. But just take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saarbr%C3%BCckenMost people from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Italy etc. prefer to move to germany. It is much easier to live here as in other countries.
