CurlyWhirly Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 I don't know how to do it in windows but with Partition Magic you would have been able to allocate the free space to your C partition do a new backup and I take it the next time Acronis should recognise the larger space, I think.I'm sure you can do it in Disk Management:The option to delete the partition is blanked out (as I only have the one active partition) but it is there. mark2 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 Acronis gives you the option to resize the partition when recovering/restoring, so increase the image's 80gb to use 160gb.Only used the resize function once, after deleting a partition from my HDDPerhaps you've used the clone drive option ? I didn't think that there would be a problem at the time, and just carried on as normal, having already restored the image on several occasions after experimenting with new programs. I hope the occasion won't occur again for a time. No harm done apart from the time lost, and it probably hasn't hurt to have a fresh installation. Funny how fresh installations differ though. On the last drive the installation gave me A for the floppy, NO B, C for the main drive, D for the second drive, E for the DVD drive and F for the DVD burner. This time I have A for the floppy as usual, NO B, C for the main drive as usual, D for the second drive as before, but this time NO E, the DVD drive is F and the DVD burner is G. My plug in USB drive was allocated as G last time, on this occasion it does not show in my computer, and has installed itself in a folder called NEW FOLDER, which I have of course renamed to Plug in drive. :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
