Alan2273
Last night at 8 o'clock we had a power cut, and it stayed off till 1.45 this afternoon. With the reliability of the power companies, it comes as a shock when you have no electricity. No TV, computers, light, heat etc.I actually read a book, the first time for years. It takes so long to boil a saucepan of water as against switching a kettle on.We were fortunate to have a gas hob and fire, but some of the houses are all electric. The utilities might be getting more expensive but how you miss them when they are not there. Belatucadrus
We're pretty well covered: Wood burning stove, camping gas hob & a generator. Problem is with petrol being the price it is, we may need another mortgage to fill the tank.
Watchful
We're pretty well covered: Wood burning stove, camping gas hob & a generator. Problem is with petrol being the price it is, we may need another mortgage to fill the tank.I'd love to be self-sufficient like that. I could manage without luxuries. How good it would be not to have to pay utility bills and ever-rising prices for everything. It does take forever to boil a kettle on the gas hob but we've stopped using an electric kettle and it's made a big difference to the bill. Watchful
If you are all-electric then it's probably reasonable.

-pops-
There is no evidence I can see that sousoutte is a spammer. He/she has not posted since June 19th and a total of 5 posts. It is noticeable that that there are no details filled in on sousoutte's profile - much like seoglobal*. Is that what makes you think there is spamming occurring?*Also 5 posts at the time of writing, in a membership period of less than an hour.
