Just in case you are not aware of it – here are the details.You can enter your shopping basket for your favourite store and see how the price compares with the other 3 supermarkets. The site will also check the contents of your basket and recommend alternatives which are cheaper or healthier.If you are home delivery customer - once happy with your basket you can send your order directly to the chosen supermarket.I just priced a typical shopping basket for myself and it compared as follows :-Tesco £113.43Asda £ 126.78Sainsbury £ 131.21Waitrose £138.66It is well worth looking atClick Here Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

By the time you take fuel into account, there would be no point goint to any of the others.I have to say though, I do like Asda. I like to see what I'm buying and choose which apples/oranges/bananas/chicken/leg of lamb/whatevers I'm going to buy. I also want to have the correct items and not have my order for two lemons fulfilled with two bottles of lemon perfumed Fairy Liquid. If Lidl sold diesel then there would be no contest. The majority of what Lidl sell is better quality and value than the UK supermarkets, but Asda's 5p per litre off diesel seems to give Asda the edge. In fact you can print off your shopping basket and then pop down to the supermarket and use the print-out as a price check and tick list as you carefully inspect each item and put it in your trolley. A lot of Tesco's so called fresh produce looks very limp and tired.The reverse applies to our Stafford branches of the two stores. Sainsbury's is in fact the nearest geographically. They used to be excellent, but have not been 'performing' for some time now. Hence the move to the new Tesco store when it opened. :D I suppose it all comes down to management. Sainsbury's £60.66Tesco £63.68Asda £54.59When I compared my list I found that several of my favourite branded items were not available at Asda, and I was offered their own brand alternatives. I will definitely stay with Sainsbury's, but will check the site out of curiosity from time to time. :DP.S. I was pleasantly surprised at the price comparison with Tesco's.
