Belatucadrus
Man drives Rolls-Royce into Tesco over missing mattress Buys something from Tesco direct, not what he expects, storms off in a snit and demands it from his local store, who not surprisingly can't help. So he goes ape and drives his roller onto the store, I think he's going to find his new accommodation has a rather lumpy mattress..
Gandalph
I couldn't believe the stupidity of the man either when I read that. Even if the car was a Ford Escort it is still no way to go about things.

catgate
I think 16 months pleasuring her majesty is a bit severe, even for knocking down Tesco with a Roller.
andsome
Serves him right. He was drunk, and injured six people. A couple of years at least would have been better, he will be out in a few months.
AlanHo
There is a certain group of people in this country who are permanently drunk - on power - who have stolen millions from the public purse, who have caused severe and expensive damage to the country and who have been directly responsible for not just injuring citizens - but getting them killed. What punishment have they received? - just a clip round the ear from the media!!!.Hence the sentence this guy has received in comparison is ludicrous. andsome
Sorry, but I have to disagree. There can be NO excuse whatsoever for drinking a bottle of whisky, then driving a car through a shop window, risking killing or maiming people. It is only by extreme luck that one employee manged to leap clear in time. Would you really agree that everyone can do such irresponsible thing when they get annoyed over something? The country would rapidly descend into lawlessness and anarchy. Two years would have been better. Out of those who say the sentence is ludicrous and too long, who would still say that if they or a loved one had been injured or killed by this idiot? AlanHo
I didn't say the sentence was too long in principle - I agree with your argument. What I stated was that it was ludicrous in comparison with the penalty applied to a group who have committed much worse crimes. Perhaps you didn't understand what I was getting at - or perhaps had now forgotten the enormity of their actions.

Gandalph
A few months ago, a young driver near Aberdeen had his girlfriend and a couple of friends in his car. Driving along the A96 just outside of Aberdeen he left the road on a bend after hitting a car coming in the opposite direction. The result of all this was two dead in the car he hit, all three passengers in his car where killed. He went to Court and got six-hundred hours community service. That's Law for you. They were saying that the Judge should be sacked and all the rest of it. From the police point of view, there were no skid marks to indicate heavy breaking. The driver of the car said he had been driving within the legal speed limit, there was nothing to indicate he had not done so. There were no witnesses to indicate otherwise as the three passengers in the Defendants car were killed and the driver and passenger in the car he collided with were dead.(So much for air-bags then). The defendant will appeal against the 600 hours community service order. trapweed
What about women drivers........This morning on I-44 I looked over to my left and there was a woman in abrand new Cadillac doing 65 mph with her face up next to her rear viewmirror putting on her eyeliner. I looked away for a couple seconds! Andwhen I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on thatmakeup. As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much--- I dropped myelectric shaver, which knocked the donutout of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out thecar, using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phoneaway from my ear which fell into the coffee between my legs, splashed, andburned Big Jim and the Twins, ruined thedamn phone, soaked my trousers, and disconnected an important call.Women drivers!!
