Sir Radfordin
Snow came down in Chelters about 20 mins ago like I've not seen in a long time - this is right into the Town center as well! Had about 2cms I think but it has settled. Also had thunder and lightening so that was different.

nellie2
It started snowing just as I arrived at work this morning... then stopped again, been raining and sleeting on and off all day then at about 2pm we got some really big flakes and it was coming down hard. Just as I was thinking I might manage to get home early because of the snow.... it stopped again. :( Now everything has frozen and it is very slippy

trackrat
Marc2. They new it was coming. their excuse was that after they had gritted the snow came down ( it was like a blizzard ), it turned to slush, then it froze and because the roads were gridlocked they could not get the gritters back out.My friend has to go 23 miles to get home, he started at 3.45 pm and got home at 8.30 pm. lester1
Snowing like hell here in Duns Lester1, so it must be heading your way. I've got about two to three inches on top of the car and no signs of a let. I've got to go to Berwick in the morning and if it keeps snowing at this rate I'll be better off trying to walk the 14 miles. :huh:Thanks for that  Dam stuff arrived overnight about 1/2 inch, all hell broke loose mid day another inch or so  Mind you snow does'nt normally last more than 24hrs here :P
Tankus
GrrrrMy meeting was not cancelled in Stevenage this morning , if only the snow had arrived 12 hours earlier...!It finished at 5 pm , and Ive only just walked through my door 15 min ago (It took me 1hr 15 min to get there...)4.5 hours stuck on the A1 due to a lorry jackknifed across both sides just outside Potters Bar.......6 hours to home.. It was a close run thing to hole up at the south mimms service station for the night .....Bloody naff.Clear Sky's now .....pig in a poke going to work tomorrow as everything is freezing to black ice...Yet we've had less than an inch ........Great Britain ...eh
Sir Radfordin
Cheltenham came to a standstill with cars just sat there doing nowt...didn't help that the M5 was shut (again!) because someone decided to have a fire in a chemical plant. Know a few people that haven't made it home after work! Now we just have sheet ice everywhere...good job the horses aren't out!
andsome
7-30 a.m. and the air is full of the sound of mournful brass monkeys outside. I sincerely hope that the pet ape on this forum is not made from brass.

Sir Radfordin
It is still around in these parts...though perhaps it is just frozen ice more than anything else. I still can't get over how much of this country ground to a halt as a result of snow we had known for several days we were going to be getting. Something really should be done about that.
