doug
That seems to have worked Boris. Just going to do a hard re-start.Yup, that worked OK. I was originally using my Windows update link, then I used the 2 links given above. So why did the link you posted, Boris, work and yet you had a problem initially? Scarecrow Man
Make sure you are using Microsoft Update, not Windows Update. Both sites will list the same updates, but you may have more success with Microsoft Update.Microsoft Update also supports Firefox via a WGA plug-in. Tony
StrangeWindows told me yesterday that there were 4 updates ready to install. They all installed with no problems.Tony
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
AutoUpdate told me yesterday that it had 6 updates, and they all seemed to install fine. After the reboot AutoUpdate came back to say it had another update. It was 913446 that previously failed without telling me. WindowsUpdate & Microsoft Update also failed, so I installed it manually.Check your updates if you really have it installed.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
According to several posts by Microsoft staff at microsoft.public.windowsupdate, the problem with KB913446 seems to be fixed now. It should properly install with both WindowsUpdate and Microsoft Update.
D4\/!d
StrangeWindows told me yesterday that there were 4 updates ready to install. They all installed with no problems.TonyFunny that. It seems only you, Tony, and me had any straightforward success with these updates. Mine worked ok on two XP Pro SP2 machines. No trouble. And I've since checked to ensure they did actually install. :)

-pops-
Expecting the same trouble I had with the updates, I went over to my son's studio yesterday to apply these patches to his work machines. They all installed with no problems whatsoever. It appears that MS rectified whatever it was that caused that update to fail so often.
