Irene Posted August 27, 2008 Report Share Posted August 27, 2008 I spent the whole morning in Stafford Hospital, having a Bone Marrow Aspiration and Biopsy, followed by a multitude of X-rays. :0 .... not a very pleasant experience. :( Next week I am in for a CT scan. This was all as a result of the unwelcome presence of a paraprotein discovered in a recent blood test. After a follow up with the Opthalmic Consultant next Tuesday, I will be having a CT scan on Wednesday to complete today's investigations. Hopefully, they will just prove to eliminate anything sinister.The good news is that I have superb vision with my right eye. An outstanding success!! I am keeping everything crossed, that the Consultant will be able to perform a small amout of laser to my left, eye which received the incorrect power of lens replacement. Where was it from? When I had it done they took it from my sternum which was made easier because of the previous scarring from the bypass surgery. I can imagine that from an intact sternum it could be very uncomfortable indeed.Don't know if you've had a CT scan before but I find it very relaxing being gently passed through the machine. Some people find it scary, though. I'm sure it's only scary because the machine is so big but it doesn't "do" anything to you.Good news about your eyes. It was a good job, I think. It was taken from my right hip, -pops. I thought I could feel it right down to my knee. :0 ...
