If the politics of his predecessors and the rest of the world are any guide his swearing in will make no difference to how devious he will eventually turn out to be. (I say "our" as I have applied for citizenship (after 31 years living in the U.S.) mostly because of this man).He has already signed an executive order to close Guantonamo (sp?) Bay and stop all military trials until they can be reviewed. He has met with his military advisors and told them to end the Iraq war and start drawing down the troops.There are more things he's doing but I can't remember them all right now.I realize that other politicians have said these kinds of things and not done them but Obama really is different.The country has come together after 8 disasterous years and the hope and excitment is palpable here. He did know the oath he took, it was the justice how messed it up. He has retaken the oath already.Anyway, I'm done spouting. I'm just really hopeful that finally this country will get back on track and start heading in the right direction. It won't be easy but if we can give him time many believe it will happen. He seems to have got off to quite a good start & I hope he continues in the same way. Apparantly he later took the oath again - correctly, it seems, this time.Anyway, actions speak louder than words. He should have said "faithfully execute the Office of the United States", but instead said "execute the Office of the President of the United States faithfully". Mr Obama, smiling, clearly recognised the mistake, and gave Mr Roberts a chance to correct himself, but the judge put faithfully in the right place but left out the word execute". Mr Obama then followed Mr Roberts' first incorrect version, before proceeding to finish the oath. At the inaugural luncheon shortly afterwards, witnesses said Mr Roberts apologised to the new president, saying "It was my fault."
