AlanHo
I am devastated to read that Britain came last, yet again, in last night's Eurovision Song Contest............... I didn't watch the programme - I never do - because it has not been worth watching since 1977 when ogling the host - Angela Rippon - made up for the crappy music.I don't know why we bovva. AlanHo
Who on earth cares????I care about British success - be it sport, tiddly winks, inventions, medical discoveries, wealth creation or whatever. There should be more people flying the flag rather than sitting at home grumping and putting down anyone who displays a bit of interest.I am proud to be English and will mourn all our failures and praise our rare successes. So should you you grumpy old killjoy.................
doug
What irritates me is the proliferation of flags, some of the cars seem to 6 or more. what puzzels me is - do they think that the more flags are flown the better the chance of succes. Must be a scam being pushed by the flag makers. Chinese?
Belatucadrus
What bothers me is the huge amount of cash the beebeebacee flushes down the pan funding this. We used to enter singers people had heard of, now all we get is talent show rejects, never heard of before or again after. Either try seriously or dump the entire farrago as the joke it has been for a quarter century.
catgate
I have not watched it since Caterina Irene Elena Maria Imperiali di Francavilla was the GB presenter.I believe the reason Graham Norton got the job was because Julian Cleary turned it down as being too camp and beneath him. -pops-
I have not watched it since Caterina Irene Elena Maria Imperiali di Francavilla was the GB presenter.I think that was the last time I watched it as well - 1974.One of the problems the UK has with this "competition" is that the "songwriters" try to be too clever and don't appreciate the mainland European "taste" in popular music. Whilst we in the UK believe that "our" pop music is the bees knees any slight mistuning of a radio to an overseas channel will show that they decidedly go for plinky-plonky, boom-bang-a-bang sounds which usually seem to be most prevalent at this Eurovision farce. Gandalph
Too much neighbour voting goes on. Russia voting for Finland and Estonia and so on. Then of course other Country's for for their neighbours. I blame the North Sea for the divide.I didn't watch the programme either but I did hear the song was rubbish anyway. artist
I watched it - there wasn't anything else on!Our entry was rubbish and the lad couldn't sustain the final top note. Some of the entries were quite entertaining - not that they got any votes. As usual it was a case of giving the points to your 'friends'.Saw the football friendly this afternoon - not one of our finest games.
