AlanHo
Many moons ago I placed shortcut icons on my desktop to quickly access the forum home page, new posts on the forum and a new topic in the lounge. These links were created by copying the respective URL’s from the browser address bar and have worked flawlessly for longer than I can remember.Today – all these links produced an error 404 page - and I was not able to access the forum. I assumed the forum was down and tried again a couple of hours later with the same result – but later today - whilst ferreting around - I noticed an link stored in my browser favourites for a forum thread I was watching recently. I clicked on it and it worked, proving that the forum was indeed alive and kicking.Investigation reveals that the structure of my links differ. The old links all start with - http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php.........etcThe link that works starts with - http://www.windowsforum.org/forums/index.php...etcI have now changed my links to the format that works – but why the change overnight? I even sent the Webmaster an Error 404 report that was generated when I tried to connect to the Forum. The only way I could get on today was to do a Google search and click on the link, then download the new link into my Bookmarks. Strange going on's indeed.
-pops-
Do you think this change is the reason for so few posts in the past day?

Gandalph
I've noticed whilst roaming through the different sections of the Forum that the only two Avatars showing at the moment are those of AlanHo and Doug.
Gandalph
Do you think this change is the reason for so few posts in the past day? That is a possibility pops. If members have had the same trouble as I have since Saturday night trying to access the Forum.
doug
There was a point when I got a message to say that the site was down for updating, can't remember exactly when this w/e. So perhaps the problems we've all had may be a carry over from that.
Alan2273
I have just noticed that all the pictures in the Gallery have gone as well.
-pops-
I'm thinking that a number of members are still under the misapprehension that the forum is down as that 404 message was still showing on the old link.
Chris
There is a problem with sub domains, so Craig tells me.OLD: http://forums.windowsforum.orgNEW: http://www.windowsforum.org/forums
catgate
Sorry I'm late for the party but I too have not been able to get through the front door that I have been using for months i.e, "http://forums.windowsforum.org/forums".I contacted artist this morning and she too seems to be locked out. I certainly think pops "Do you think this change is the reason for so few posts in the past day?" may be pretty near the mark.Is there no way to send out emails to the regulars to notify them of this? Or is the cause of this still "top secret" or even unknown?I would still be assuming the site was down had it not been for the fact that Alanho emailed me earlier this evening. IMTNT
I thought for sure this forum was finally laid to rest. I received an email telling me otherwise.
