We will have a dinner in the house of a friend who lives opposite, together with another couple of friends who live two doors away. I will contribute the cheese and one pudding. If the recipe is a success I will post it, in my capacity as WF Head chef. Our other friends will contribute a starter and a second pudding, the host family will do the main course. We do this every year with great success. Happy new year to you all.

my wife and family are trying to get me to go to the local (it's open to 3am) to see the "bells in" but i'm a bit of a traditionalist and don't like to go out until we have had oor "first fit" especially when it's your first new year in a new home, so far I have been called, old fashioned, a fuddy duddy, superstitious old twat and a boring git to name some of the more polite names, ah well, looks like another tradition is going "oot the windae" :(
