AlanHo Posted February 23, 2007 Report Share Posted February 23, 2007 I will not bore you with the history - but will tell you that I have become addicted to Double Chocolate and Stem Ginger Cookies from the Co-Op supermarkets.A couple of months ago I was spending a week or so in South Wales and happened to buy some biscuits from the local supermarket (which was a 5 mile drive from the farm we were staying at) and have been addicted to them ever since. After taking my first bite and experiencing heaven - I was surprised to see that they were the Co-Ops own brandIf you know of any biscuits (for American members read "cookies") that are more crispy, more lighter, more chocolatey, more gingerly or more superb - then please let me know.I have become a co-op-holic. They are so light and crumbly you will find it difficult not to leave a trail of crumbs as you sneak back from the kitchen and they are truly addictive.I am thinking of checking myself into the Priory for remedial therapy to wean me back onto MvVities and Jacobs biscuits again. Two weeks before that I cleared their stock of just two packets so they had quite clearly re-stocked. This does not align with your man telling you they were just Christmas stock.If the Co-Op stop selling these delights - it will be an outrage worthy of starting a petition on the No. 10 website.The Co-Op manager told me that each couple of months or so they introduce another flavour - but the old favourites keep returning. However - I still await the return of the Ginger Stem Cookies which were divine - damn - I have just salivated and dribbled on the keyboard. I'll do an 'andsome:-"I don't like chocolate chip bicuits."On a more positive note I do like your stem ginger biscuits.And for the reminscent side of things:-I can remember when Penguin bicuits tasted of real penguins and there was a whole bird in each biscuit.Is that better??
