some details. It was my wife who knocked me over. really is tragic. it was only the second time she had driven the car after the left foot accelerator modification. she was driving me and next door neighbour out for sunday lunch as i haven't been able to have a drink with a meal out for 18 months since she lost the control of her right leg. she had had a little difficulty so i got out and went round the back of the car to suss it out. somehow she was into reverse gear and her foot must have jammed on the accelerator when the car charge back into me knocking me flying and into the door jam of neighbours garage. i then went down onto the floor when she came charging out again. hallo i thought she's trying to do a good job on me. anyway i'm generally ok. a bit battered and very bruised. the car is away now for repair. haven't seen it but apparently there's a lot of pictures on our camera taken by no.1 daughter who stayed with anne and is staying tonight with no. 1 grandson, only 4 and a half months. a real bonus.

the outcome is the neighbours garage was demolished, transgas have made the gas pipes and meter safe. the car is away for repair there had not been any fault with the accelerator modification, this has been checked in great detail by the modifiers. so it's just going to take time to get everything back to normal. my elbow was smashed but is now wired back together so i shall be doing the exercises to build up the strength - its my drinking arm! biggest tradedgy is that i've been discharged with 2 lots of antibiotics. was really looking forward to a small sensation tonight, well it was going to be a very large one to celebrate how lucky we'ed all been when i read the advisory notes on the antibiotics and under no circumstance can i consume any elictir. a real insult.

be about 6 weeks before i can start lifting any loads etc. no car for a bit so we'll have to try this buying of groceries on-line.

once again thanks for all your wishes. :D

thanks nel - so very true. now i've got to work on her to ensure her confidence is ok. we've already had words. i want her to go out with the driving instructor with his modified car for an hour or so - now. she wants to wait 'till the car's been fixed. thats going to be a few weeks away and i'm thinking that's too long.

I think Doug's number two daughter meant to post this but hit the wrong button .... we've all done that! :D

Hello,

I'm Doug's Number two daughter, and yes I've had to suffer the jokes for 34 years! I would just like to say that my dad is the kindest man alive. Sunday was a bit of a shock when I recieved a phonecall from him saying tht my Mum had ran him over, and he was lying on the drive. In reflection it sounds like one of those small adds you read in the paper, and thank god we all have a sense of humour.

I'm sorry for those of you waiting for the next instalment of the prawn joke, but it is worth waiting for!!!!

I'm hanging on with baited breath waiting for the next installment! :P

I replied by PM to dougs daughter. Still forget its a PM to all mods and think its only me receiving the message! :D

Great to hear you getting back on your feet doug. When I found out it was Ann who had done the damage, I couldn't stop laughing. Sorry, but it was only a couple of days back that you and I were talking about the modification and I said that now she could drive it would give you a rest. Didn't mean it quite the way it happened though! :D
