Thos Posted March 17, 2006 Report Share Posted March 17, 2006 A lot of the pubs make a big thing of St Patricks day but I suspect it is fanned by commerce wanting to flog Guiness.There is a big horse race meeting in Cheltenham and thousands of Irish folk come over to celebrate. Ireland, for which St.P. is the patron saint, is a Roman Catholic country.
