I had to collect management from Droitwich last evening at 10.30 pm and the M42 was a nightmare. The snow had stuck and was about 2" deep - but the lorries that were on the road at that time on a Sunday were ploughing on regardless - sending up "walls" of slush as they overtook me.

By the time I reached Droitwich it was raining in torrents and you could see the snow melting quickly.

The journey back home an hour later was a doddle - the motorway was clear. T'was amazing how quickly it changed.

This morning it has all gone and there is no evidence of the snow - I wonder if I just dreamed it...?

Gandalf link:-

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "This incident must surely serve as a warning for drivers that winter has arrived and it is vital that they take note of the conditions when they go out on the roads."

There is always some pil***ck ever ready to open his mouth and prove to the rest of the world just how big a pil**ck he is.
