Tankus Posted October 6, 2009 Report Share Posted October 6, 2009 well I'm still off , back in london by the end of the month ........... 33C and humid (Rhodes).....locals are already wearing jumpers 'cause its a bit cool ....? and me with sweaty nads ! ....Dont think I could have managed here in august let alone june ...hot hot HOT !!!!!!Apartments are nice and clean ...all on ground level around a nice pool ...got a result there ..... nobby car though.... huyndi 1.4... but at least the air con works , and only hit one wall so far while reversing ..... Fabulous weather .....apart from the odd thunderstorm which immediately dries after its gone ....fallen in lurve with Greece (only been on one island so far though ) ...Really laid back and non PC , drivings a doddle ...no roundabouts, few lights , an no mad bastards ....... very friendly chatty locals who mostly speak english (lots of ex pats out here but its not the chavy fish "n" chip brigade so the place hasn't been wrecked, they have blended in ) biggest shock is though is the Euro less than £1 = €1 ...and its quite and eye opener (eg £6 cocktails at the bar) ... I've sent a postcard to 10 downing street saying thank you for the shitty exchange rate and can I have some of my drinking expenses charged to my local MP ) The british are the new poor of euroland...... Some of the local retailers have noticed the drop off in British spend too.....house on the hill.... might see if I can get up there tomorrowI've made a friendthunderstorm rolling in not missing the smoke at all Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
