It started snowing here yesterday morning but it was a case of melting soon after it fell. Tonight though, it started again at about seven o'clock and has been snowing on and off since then. We have about three inches so far and it looks as though it will be here for a long time as temperatures are well into the minus range.

In the Midlands they say we could have up to six inches, but as I took early retirement, I will sit in my nice warm house and watch it. :yahoo:

In South Staffs we have had about half an inch up till now, and it's 7-21 am. I hope the forecast was wrong. :D

I've just been listening to the on-going forecast. Overnight, we're set to freeze whatever snow has fallen. Bad driving conditions etc. etc.

Tomorrow we were planning to drive into Cheshire, where our son lives. I think it will be a case of putting Plan B into operation. i.e. Stay in, keep warm and safe!! :D

There's about three inches here - it's all wet and slushy and revolting.

Just taken the dog for his constitutional and he thinks it's wonderful - rolling about in it and playing like a puppy. I now have a very large soaking wet, freezing cold, dog to dry out and look after.

If the temperature stays as it is, most likely all gone by evening.

Much as I hate slush, I wish it was melting here. It's still very cold and snowing worse than ever. Now about three inches deep.

3 inches or so and still snowing. Been out for the paper and the main roads are passable but the forecast is below freezing temps leading to a dreadful prospect of icy ruts tomorrow. The rain will wash it all away and I can get back to my usual routine of idleness!

A very enjoyable way of passing the time. :D

Way to go Alan! Enjoy your retirement. How old are you (if you care to say).

BTW: I feel the same way at the moment as I am housebound for at leas this month.

I am 59, the firm I worked for offered me a redundancy and early retirement package that was just to good to turn down.

Dw hope you are soon gallivanting about again.
